Blissful Date Shake for Ojas
as my ayurvedic doctor always tells me….nourish, nourish, nourish!
this is one of my favourite “treats” that Fuels your body with vitality and bliss, and is designed to promote ojas… the essence of health, vitality, and immunity in Ayurveda. This simple yet powerful shake combines dates, ghee, and warm milk to nourish and energise, leaving you feeling grounded and glowing from the inside out. use this recipe to replace your smoothies or coffees.
Perfect for anyone in need of a vitality boost or looking for a healthier alternative to sugary snacks, this shake is also great for children, or nursing mums. If you’re currently underweight, this is a great addition to have each morning, one hour before your breakfast or as an afternoon delight when you need some grounding.
and for my ladies who have just finished their bleed, A date shake is a healthy post-period choice because dates are rich in fibre, which can help reduce bloating and address bowel irritation. The positive effects of dates on reproductive health, such as increasing blood circulation, make them beneficial for women experiencing anemia or problems with light periods. Incorporating fibre-rich fruits, healthy fats (like those in avocados and nuts), and zinc-rich seeds can support the body during and after your period.
i like to add some rose petals and a couple saffron threads when im on my bleed. Saffron enhances the effects of other spices and food, supports the assimilation of nutrients into the tissues of the body, and balances all doshas. It is a digestive aid, builds blood, regulates the menstrual cycle, and increases love, devotion, and compassion xx

Dosha Adaptation Guide
VATA – Perfect for Vata, offering warmth and nourishment to balance dryness and coldness. Use whole milk and add a pinch of ginger for extra grounding.
PITTA – For Pitta, use rice milk, reduce the cardamom, and add rose water or apricots to cool down the heat.
KAPHA – Kapha may find it heavy, so opt for rice milk, reduce ghee, and add a pinch of ginger or black pepper to stimulate digestion and lightness.
